Apiary Backpacks

Collaborating with Rickshaw Bagworks in San Francisco to produce these bags (more on company swag in this post), I created a pattern inspired by a simplified version of the Apiary logo to be printed on the fabric lining the interior of the backpacks.

Versions of this pattern have been used on digital materials (backgrounds on web products) and on physical products, such as engraved beer mugs, texture on sliding glass doors in the office, t-shirts, and other company-branded items.

American Apparel Print Shop Design Contest

I designed a piece called “Dance of the Dueling Narwhals” and placed as a finalist in the 2012 American Apparel Print Shop Design Contest. Apparel and accessories featuring the design were sold in stores and online worldwide.

Lilac Saloon Brand Identity

Lilac Saloon is a studio full of handmade items inspired by small towns in the American Midwest and the world of high fashion. I created a logo and brand identity for business cards, packaging, a blog and an online store, and social media.

Michigan Beer Show Branding

I created branding for the newly-formed Michigan Beer Show podcast in 2013. As the podcast content evolved, I established a content strategy, which expanded the topics covered and took the audio format to a blog and social media profiles. This logo was used on digital properties as well as on Michigan Beer Show swag like t-shirts and coasters.

Bitcasa Brand Pivot

Bitcasa was a startup focused on cloud storage applications for iOS, Android, Mac, Windows, and the web. Initially, Bitcasa was launched as an infinite file size limit product for individual consumers, but evolved to be a developer and enterprise customer-focused platform.

The early branding included bright green logos, multicolored, complex images but the pivot required a streamlined design and simplified branding. I was design lead on refocusing this brand to reflect the new business model. The icons, patterns, and colors used across the website and software products reflected that.

San Francisco Bay Area Spartans club events branding

I established a logo for the San Francisco chapter of the Michigan State University Alumni Association and created visual assets to promote club events.

The Spartan Speakeasy was planned to be a wine tasting event on Treasure Island in the San Francisco Bay featuring local winemakers and entrepreneurs.

Posters for Spanish language classrooms

I was commissioned by Spanish teachers to create classroom posters showcasing the colors, flag, and maps of Spanish-speaking countries. The posters are available for digital download on Creative Market.
